Ben Platt is a 27-year-old U.S. actor, singer, and songwriter who gained notoriety primarily for his role in the film “Pitch Perfect” as well as for his role as Evan Hansen in the highly successful Broadway play “Dear Evan Hansen”. For this he was awarded both the Tony Award in the category “Best Actor in a Musical” and a Grammy for “Best Original Broadway Cast Recording Album”.
Ben Platt is also an Emmy award winner and starred alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the 2019 Netflix series “The Politician”.
2019 also saw the release of his debut solo album “Sing To Me Instead”, which charted in the top 20 in US.
Now, on August 13, Platt will release his second studio album: Reverie. Leading the album are the tracks “Imagine” and “Happy To be Sad.” In the fall of 2021, Ben Platt will also star in the movie version of the Broadway play Dear Evan Hansen. Some voices are already rumoring that this role could earn him his first Oscar® nomination …for his first Oscar® nomination.
